Individuals & Parent Carer Support

Many individuals and parent carers reach out while navigating systems such as SEND support, education, benefits, health services or self-advocacy.

These journeys can be confusing and often feel isolating, especially when information is scattered across different services and systems.

There are two ways to connect depending on what kind of support you’re looking for.

Join the Parent Carer Community

The MosaiQs parent carer community is a peer space where individuals and families support each other through shared experience.

Members connect, ask questions, share insights and help each other navigate challenges across areas such as SEND support, education and wider systems.

If you’d like to connect with others who understand the journey, you can join the community below.

This peer support group was set up over 10 years ago and is built on respect, understanding and shared experience. Please help keep it a supportive space for everyone.

Request Personalised Guidance

Some situations need more focused support.

If you are navigating systems such as SEND support, education, benefits, diagnosis pathways, housing or access to services, you can submit your situation for personalised written guidance.

Many people reach out when they feel stuck, unsure what their rights are, or need help understanding the best next steps.

You can share the details of your situation using the form below and we will review your enquiry.

Small note

The MosaiQs is not able to provide ongoing individual casework or legal advice, but these responses aim to help individuals and families feel more informed and confident when navigating complex systems.

Trying to navigate services while supporting a child or managing your own needs can be exhausting. Sometimes having clear information and support from people who understand the system can make all the difference.

Request Personalised Written Guidance

If you are navigating complex systems such as SEND, education, benefits or access to support, you can submit your situation for personalised written guidance.

After reviewing your enquiry, we provide a personalised written guidance document that breaks down your situation and outlines practical next steps based on the information you share.

Each response is tailored to the individual situation you submit.

Depending on your situation, this may include:

  • a clear written breakdown of the situation

  • explanations of relevant rights, processes or systems

  • step-by-step suggestions for what to do next

  • practical tips or options to consider

  • guidance on forms or applications

  • example wording or draft emails where helpful

  • templates or suggested approaches for raising concerns or requests

The guidance is shared as a written file that you can keep and refer back to.

People often request guidance on things such as:

  • EHCP applications, reviews or tribunal preparation

  • challenging school decisions or accessing SEN support

  • DLA, PIP, mandatory reconsiderations and benefit issues

  • routes to diagnosis and understanding assessment pathways

  • understanding legal rights and available support

  • housing, Access to Work, or wider disability support

  • understanding different interventions, services or options

Due to the volume of requests received, this support is provided as a written review rather than a live session.

Many people find written guidance more helpful than a call. It allows you to take in the information at your own pace, refer back to it when needed, and avoid the overwhelm that can sometimes happen in meetings where a lot of information is shared at once.

If you have any access requirements or preferences for how information is presented, you are welcome to mention these in your enquiry. For example, dyslexia-friendly formatting, information broken down into clear steps, or additional prompts and examples where helpful.

The more context you can provide in the form below, the more tailored the guidance can be.

Fees start from £80 depending on complexity.
If your request requires more detailed review, you will be informed before any payment is requested.
